Video games retailer Game has announced 133 job losses in the North East as they confirm store closures.

A total of 20 Game stores will close in the North East.

Nationally there'll be around 2,000 jobs lost.

277 stores in the UK and Ireland will close.

Pricewaterhouse Coopers, the company's administrators, is still hopeful that the group can be sold.

The firm's lenders are reportedly working on plans to buy a slimmed-down version of the retailer out of administration.
