A man's pleaded not guilty to the murders of two people, one in Middlesbrough and one in Whitby in April.
36 year old James Allen appeared at Newcastle Crown Court today (Monday 23rd July) and denied killing 50 year old Julie Davison from Whitby, North Yorkshire, and 81 year old Colin Dunford from Middlesbrough.
Allen spoke only to confirm his name and enter not guilty pleas at his court appearance this morning.
A three-week trial, which will be heard by a High Court judge, will start on October 29th at Newcastle Crown Court.
Allen was remanded in custody.
