Man Charged Over Gateshead Bookies Robbery

A man's been charged after a robbery at William Hill bookies in Gateshead.

29 year old Daniel McDowell from Beacon Rise in Gateshead's in front of Gateshead Magistrates later (Friday 16th March) charged with robbery and faces two further charges of possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of harm and assaulting a police officer.

It's after the robbery at William Hill bookies on Sheriff's Highway at 8:20pm on Monday (12th March).

A weapon, believed to be an air pistol has been recovered.
