Man Charged After North Tyneside Stabbing

A man has been charged with wounding and posessing a knife after a man was stabbed in the leg in North Shields.

The 24 year old was taken to hospital on Friday afternoon from Minton Lane in North Shields with non life threatening. 

23 year old Steven King, 23 from Cragside Avenue in North Shields appeared in court on Saturday charged with wounding with intent to commit GBH, possession of a knife or bladed article and criminal damage. 

A 24-year-old man also arrested in connection with the incident will receive no further police action.
