A 55 year old man is being questioned on suspicion of manslaughter after the death of a man in Morpeth.
Police were called by Wansbeck District General Hospital after a man was admitted following a row in Morpeth.
It's thought the 52 year old went shopping in the Sanderson Arcade in Morpeth, whilst there he got into an argument with another man.
The argument continued on the street outside, where the victim was allegedly assaulted.
He was taken to hospital but died at just before 6pm.
This morning, Northumbria Police have arrested a 55 year old man on suspicion of manslaughter.
Detectives have told Capital they don't think a weapon was involved.
A post mortem is being carried out this afternoon.(Wednesday)
