Icy Conditions Cause A1 Chaos

A 25-mile stretch of the A1 in North Yorkshire's been closed all morning after a number of accidents.
North Yorkshire Police were called out to 54 collisions across the county since midnight - no-one's been badly hurt.
The stretch between Allerton Park and Catterick were worst hit, with reports that up to 20 lorries had jack-knifed
The A1 had to be shut Northbound from Dishforth to Catterick and Southbound between Leeming Bar and Catterick.
The A1(M) was also closed between junction 47 at Allerton Park and junction 49 at Dishforth.
The road was eventually reopened around 12pm
