Man Charged Over Houghton Sex Assault

A man has been charged after a girl was sexually assaulted in Houghton.
31 year old Martin Kirkwood of Railway Terrace, Herrington, has been charged with six counts of sexual assault by touching and will appear at South Tyneside Court this morning.
It follows an attack on a girl at 2.50pm, on Tuesday, March 25th.
Police were informed a 17-year-old girl was walking at Herrington Burn in Houghton, when she was approached by a man who touched her.
