A four-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in South Tyneside.
She was struck on Amos Ayre Place at around 7.25pm on Friday before being rushed to hospital.
The girl was treated by staff at Newcastle's RVI but later died.
She's been named as Ava Henderson of Inverness Road in Jarrow.
Anyone with information about the collision is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1083.
