Five people have been arrested by Northumbria Police on suspicion of human trafficking
The two men and three women have been arrested after a man and a woman told Northumbria Police they had been exploited for work.
The alleged victims, both from Slovakia, went to a police station in Newcastle and told officers they had been subject to human trafficking.
Northumbria Police said that, as a result, two men, aged 22 and 38, and three women, aged 18, 24 and 37, had been arrested.
All five have been bailed pending further inquiries.
