Fire At Darlington Warehouse

Firefighters are tackling a blaze at a warehouse in Darlington where 5,000 tonnes of recycling waste's on fire.

Crews were called to the scene of the blaze on the Albert Hill Industrial Estate around 8pm last night (Saturday 25th May)

It's not known how the fire started.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue have told Capital they received 50 calls about the incident near to Haughton Road.

People living in the area were told to keep their windows and doors shut to protect them from the smoke.
