Cyclist Killed In A19 Crash

A cyclist's died after being hit by a lorry on the A19 near Norton on Teesside

It happened on the southbound carriageway at around 6 o clock this morning (Monday 23rd Jan).

The cyclist, a man in his 50s, was killed when the lorry hit him near the junction for the A1027.

A 53 year old man who was driving the lorry has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

The road's due to be shut until 12pm to allow for recovery work - a diversion's been put in place
