A bulldog breeder who lost his arm after being savaged by his own dogs will be sentenced following an attack on a 63-year-old man.

Stephen Potts, 48, from Low Pittington, County Durham, had only left hospital a few weeks before the attack on dog walker Lindsay Edwards.

Potts had gone on trial but, just two days in, admitted amended charges of six counts of being in charge of dogs dangerously out of control in a public place.

Durham Crown Court heard how the dogs attacked Mr Edwards in October and ripped his dog from his arms.

Three weeks before, two of Potts's own dogs had attacked him resulting in one being shot by a police marksman and the other put down by a vet.
