Body Found On South Tyneside Beach

A man's body has been found in Whitburn.

Police have told Capital they were called to the beauty spot at 7.26am after they received a report of a body. 

Enquiries are on going but officers say his death is not being treated as suspicious. 

HM Coastguard and Sunderland RNLI were called in by the police to help with the recovery of the body.
