Arrest Over Gateshead Murder

A 27 year-old man's been arrested in connection with the murder of John Roberts, who was found dead in his Winlaton home.

The 32 year old was found dead at his home on Sunday, December 16th.

Officers are continuing to follow a number of lines of enquiries and appeal to anyone who may have any information to contact police.

The last confirmed sighting of Mr Roberts was around 6:30pm on Saturday, December 15th at the Kandola store on Hazel Road - approximately 400m from where he lived.

He was wearing a dark green jacket with a hood and jogging bottoms.
