Body Believed To Be Missing Sunderland Man

Police believe a body found in the River Wear is that of missing man Daniel Smith.

The body is yet to be formally identified.

Daniel Smith, who was 25 and from South Tyneside, had been missing since Friday, March 20th.

Enquiries into his death are ongoing.

A month after he was last seen, Northumbria Police are asking for help to find missing Sunderland man Daniel Smith.

25-year-old Daniel, a South Tyneside man currently living in Sunderland, was last seen on Friday, March 20th in Sunderland.

He is described as 5ft 10 to 6ft, medium build, very short light brown hair with Chinese writing tattooed on the left side of his neck and "SMITHY" on his left arm.

Enquiries are being carried out to locate him and officers are asking anyone who may have seen him in the past few weeks to get in contact.

Detective Inspector Denise Clark said:
"It's almost a month since Daniel was last seen and his family are desperate to hear from him and hear that he is safe and well, we would urge him to please get in contact with us.

Likewise, we would like to hear from anyone who has seen him in the past month or has any information about where he is."
