Woman's Body Found In Rochdale Lake

Police are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found at a beauty spot.

The 21-year-old, named locally as Chamman Nisa Shah, was discovered in the water at Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough, Greater Manchester, on Saturday.

It is understood detectives are currently treating the death of the Rochdale cinema worker as unexplained.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesman said: ``Shortly before 7.45pm on Saturday police were called to the lake following reports of a body being seen by a member of the public.

``Officers attended and the body of a woman, believed to be 21 years old, was recovered from the water.

``Inquiries into the circumstances surrounding her death are ongoing.''
