A woman is being treated for a fractured skull after a brick was thrown through a bus window in Stockport.
Just after 10pm on Sunday 17 July a 31-year-old woman was travelling on a bus on London Road, Hazel Grove when a brick was thrown through the window. It hit her, fracturing her skull.
Two offenders, wearing dark clothing, were seen running across London Road and onto Queens Road opposite where the incident took place.
Police are now urging witnesses to contact them.
Detective Inspector Mike Fenton said: "This was a shocking and unprovoked attack that has left a woman with a fractured skull.
"We believe the offenders were stood on the pavement on London Road when they threw the brick through a window of the bus and I am urging anyone who may have seen the incident or the offenders running away to contact us.
"This type of incident is rare and I would ensure the local community that every effort will be made to bring these people to justice."
