Twelve Year Old Boy Found Hanged in Burnley

A 12-year-old boy's been found hanged in Burnley. The Ambulance Service and police were called to an address in the town just after 5:20pm on Monday night, where they found Michael Raven hanging in his bedroom.

The Ambulance Service and police were called to an address in the town just after 5:20pm on Monday night, where they found Michael Raven hanging in his bedroom.

He was taken by ambulance to the Royal Blackburn Hospital but was sadly pronounced dead a short time later. The cause of this sudden death has not yet been confirmed but it is not being treated as suspicious. The Coroner has been informed and a post mortem examination will take place later this week.

Michael went to St Wilfrid’s C of E Academy in Blackburn. Police Family Liaison Officers remain with the family who are understandably distraught.
