Teenager Sexually Assaulted In Greater Manchester

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 15 year old girl was sexually assaulted in Chorlton.

She was walking along St Anne's Road with her friend, a 16 year old girl, at about 9.15pm on Saturday 9th July when a man walking along the street approached the pair. He then went away only to return sitting in the passenger seat of a car.

He again tried to speak to the girls who then ran away towards Sandy Lane.

At about 10pm the man found the girl close to Corkland Road and Devonshire Road, he then chased her and sexually assaulted her. The girl managed to kick herself free and then ran away.

The offender is described as white, in his mid 40's, of skinny build, about 5ft 10in tall with shaved blonde or ginger hair.
He was wearing a cream coloured jumper and dark green denim trousers.

The driver of the car, which is described as blue, was white, in his mid to late 30's, of heavy build with spikey ginger hair. he also had a gap between his front teeth.

Detective Constable Pam Collins said: "This was clearly a shocking incident which has left the victim upset.

"Incidents like this are rare in Chorlton and we have also carried out leaflet drops in the area to ensure that residents know they can come to us if they have concerns.

"We would urge anyone who may have information to assist our investigation to call us."
