A 14 year old girl has been sexually assaulted as she walked home from a bus station in Leigh.
At about 3.50pm on Wednesday 22 June 2011 the 14 year old girl was walking on Chapel Street after getting off a bus at Leigh bus station.
The offender approached her, tried to talk to her, pulled her into an area known as Lancaster Court and sexually assaulted her on Peter Street. He attacked her three times in ten minutes.
He eventually left along the back of Severn Street.
He is described as being white, about 5ft 4in tall, of chubby build and about 18-years-old. He had short blonde hair and was wearing a white T shirt and dark tracksuit bottoms.
Detective Constable Julian Hopkins said: "We have launched a thorough inquiry to trace this man and trained officers have been helping the victim.
"While incidents of this nature are rare in Leigh, we would urge anyone with information that can help us trace the offender get in touch with us."
