Another suspicious death is being investigated at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport.
70 year old Beryl Hope died last August after the deliberate contamination of saline and detectives say they have now ``recategorised'' her case after a thorough review with medical specialists.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: ``It is now believed Beryl Hope was poisoned by products contaminated with insulin. It is not known whether the poisoning contributed to her death.
``Detectives are continuing to investigate and review the cases of 21 other patients, including six others who have died: Tracey Arden, Arnold Lancaster, Derek Weaver, Bill Dickson, Linda McDonagh and Jack Beeley. ''
In a statement, Mrs Hope's family said: ``Beryl was a dearly-loved wife of 51 years to Ken. She was a doting mother and nana to two sons and four grandchildren, and is sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.''
A male nurse arrested in connection with poisoning deaths at Stepping Hill was rebailed last week while inquiries continue.
46 year old Filipino-born Victorino Chua was arrested in January on suspicion of tampering with medical records and then arrested on suspicion of three counts of murder and 18 counts of GBH.
