Police Appeal In Wigan Murder Case

Following the death of a Wigan man, Police are trying to trace two woman.
56 year old Francis Farrell was found with a head injury in the early morning on Sunday 17 June, on Frog Lane, Wigan.
He was taken to hospital for treatment, where he later died.
A post-mortem examination concluded that the cause of Francis' death was a head injury.
Today, police have released CCTV stills of two women who were seen leaving the Hub nightclub in Wigan on 5.15am the same morning.
One of the women has long brown hair and is wearing a long sleeveless top over black leggings and black shoes. She is also carrying a black jacket.
The second woman has red hair which is tied up, is wearing a light coloured long vest top with a motif on the front and black trousers/leggings. She is also wearing light coloured high heeled shoes.
Detective Chief Inspector Philip Reade said: “We are appealing for the two women who can be seen in the CCTV images to come forward and speak to us.
“I want to stress that we do not believe these women are involved in Frances' death in any way, but they may have information that may help us with our investigation.
“If you recognise yourself in the photo, or if you know who either of these women are, please call police directly on 0161 856 2448.”
23 year old David Horne from Scholes in Wigan has been charged with murder.
