Piccadilly Gardens Trouble

Police say they don't think trouble in Piccadilly Gardens last night was connected to the England match.

They were called out to reports of a large disturbance involving men suspected of carrying weapons around8.30pm.

Due to the nature of the report, a number of officers were deployed to the scene including armed officers in their capacity as first aid specialists.

Two men were arrested at the scene - one on suspicion of affray and the other on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon.

A woman was also found with injuries in the area but police don't think she sustained them as a result of this incident.
