26 year old Saiba Khatoon was found with multiple stab wounds at her home in Monday night.
An ambulance was called out just before midnight to Darlington Road in Kirkholt.
30 year old Siraj Arif from Armstrong Hurst Close in Smallbridge has now been charged with murder.
He is due to appear at Bury Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 10 May 2012. Saiba Khatoon's family have released this statement.
Saiba was born in the Rochdale area on the 9 May 1985. She was one of eight children and has lived in the Rochdale area all her life. She attended local school and college before being employed as a community support worker helping vulnerable adults and children with various disabilities.
Saiba married in 2003 and her son was born in 2005. She was always smiling, was a very happy person and loved practising her faith. She was pregnant with her second child and was looking forward to becoming a mother again. She planned to name her baby after her sister who had passed away from illness some six years earlier.
Saiba is much loved and will always be remembered by her friends and family. We have lost the best mum in the world, the best daughter, sister and friend a person could ever have. She was one of the kindest people you would ever wish to know and always went out of her way to help others.
