The family of Juliet Edwards have described her as a wonderful, loving, caring mother.
They're paying tribute to the 48 year old after she was stabbed to death last Saturday.
Police were called to a house on Great Western Street in Moss Side in the early hours of Saturday 23 July following reports Juliet had a serious injury.
She was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
A Home Office post mortem revealed Juliet’s cause of death was a single stab wound to the neck.
Paying tribute, Juliet’s family said:
'We are devastated by the tragic loss of our mother. She was a wonderful, loving, caring mother, grandmother, sister, daughter and friend with a kind heart and a generous nature. We want justice for her, she did not deserve this. Her memory will live with us forever and she will never be forgotten.'
A man has been charged with Juliet’s murder and rape.
Melvyn Edwards of Great Western Street is due to appear before Manchester Magistrates Court on Wednesday 27 July 2011.
