Men Charged After Assault In Manchester

Two men are up in court later charged with assault.

It's after a man's ear was bitten in a Manchester car park.

Officers were called to PC World on Pin Mill Brown in Ancoats on Friday afternoon after reports a man had been assaulted.

They found a 52 year old had injuries to his ear following the fight.

Johnny Joseph Joyce (born 09/11/1990), and Douglas Joyce (born 26/05/1988), both of Cherry Avenue, Openshaw, Manchester, are charged with section 20 assault (wounding without intent) and are due before Manchester City Magistrates' Court on 13 June 2011.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses and are particularly keen to speak to the driver of a white Skoda Octavia private hire taxi who may have seen what happened.
