Manchester Woman in Court Charged with Murdering a Toddler

A women from Manchester and another man have appeared in court charged with murdering a 2-year-old.

23-year-old Rebecca Shuttleworth, and 30-year-old Luke Southerton, faced magistrates in Birmingham accused of killing two-year-old Keanu Williams.

The toddler, known as Kiwi to his friends and family, was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital.

Shuttleworth, of Cottingham Road in Manchester, is also charged with causing/allowing Keanu's death and two counts of child cruelty.

Both defendants were remanded in custody.
