A firearms officer from Greater Manchester Police has been found dead in a car in Merseyside.

A firearms officer from Greater Manchester Police has been found dead in a car in Merseyside. 36 year old Nick Corless was found on Sunday, with a gunshot wound to his head. His death isn't being treated as suspicious.

The father-of-one, from St Helens, worked on anti-terrorism duties at Manchester Airport.

His commanding officer says he was an extremely well-liked and respected colleague, who was quiet and unassuming.
