A 22-year-old man from Manchester has died after jumping from a bridge in Cumbria renowned for attracting thrill-seeking "tombstoners''.
Last summer, police warned people they risked prosecution under the Public Order Act if they leapt into the River Lune from Devil's Bridge in Kirkby Lonsdale.
The body of the victim was found several hours after police were called to the scene.
Specialists from the underwater police diving unit attended along with Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service and volunteers from Kendal Mountain Rescue.
A Cumbria Constabulary spokeswoman said: "Several hours later after a search of the river and its banks a body was recovered a short distance downstream from Devil's Bridge.
"A 22-year-old male from the Manchester area has since been identified by family members.''
