Manchester Braced For Cold Snap

Manchester is braced for more snow, sleet and hail.

The north-west is set to be the worst affected area behind Scotland.

The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings for Scotland and the North-West.

Motorists across the area were warned to take care on the roads as icy conditions made driving treacherous yesterday.

The M8 was closed westbound yesterday because of a jack-knifed lorry and diesel on the road.

Lindsay Dovey, a forecaster with MeteoGroup said: ``There will be snow, and sleet and hail at low levels, Gusts of wind up to 60mph are expected across parts.''
