A man from Manchester has been jailed for 18 years for rape and serious sexual offences against two young girls.
47-year-old Glen Grady from Ordsall was found guilty of 17 charges of rape and serious sexual offences at an earlier hearing and was jailed today at Liverpool Crown Court.
From 1994 Grady systematically sexually abused and raped a 14 year old girl. This abuse came to an end in 2000 when the victim became pregnant with his child.
Grady went on to sexually abuse and rape a 13 year old girl over a 12 month period between 2001 and 2002 in Wigan.
Detective Constable Amanda Goulding, from Leigh Public Protection Investigation Unit, said:
"After several years of anguish the victims have today seen some justice done.
"Both of the women have shown tremendous courage reporting these incidents to the police and helping us with our investigations.
"I hope that they can now begin to put these awful experiences behind them and move forward with their lives.
"We take all reports of sexual abuse and rape seriously no matter how long ago they happened and if anyone is in the same position as these women, I want them to have the confidence to come forward so we can have
justice done for them too."
