Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was shot in Pendleton.
Officers were called to Hodge Lane in the early hours of this morning. There, they discovered a 27-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his arm and legs. He was taken to hospital for treatment and remains in a stable condition.
Superintendent Wayne Miller, said: "I want to reassure the community we have a team of detectives from our Major Incident Team investigating this incident and we are doing all we can to find out who is responsible.
"There is no need for local residents to be unduly concerned and there are extra officers in and around the area if you want to talk to us or have any worries.
"Someone in Salford will know exactly what happened and why and I am urging them to come forward and help us. Your information will be treated in absolute confidence."
