A man is recovering in hospital after injuring his hand during a suspected blast at a house in Bolton.
Police and the Ambulance Service went to a house on Lea gate shortly after 1.20pm on Sunday, after getting reports a man had suffered a serious injury to his hand.
The man, believed to be in his 20s, was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not life-threatening.
Police said inquiries into the incident and the circumstances leading up to it are ongoing.
Detective Chief Inspector Sarah Jackson, of Greater Manchester Police added: "The man has suffered an extremely serious injury to his hand and our investigation into this incident is very much in its infancy.
"It would not be helpful or appropriate to speculate on what has gone on until the full facts are known, but I want to reassure residents living nearby that this is an isolated incident and there is nothing to suggest any threat to the wider community."
