Man charged with Bolton Toddlers Murder

Police have charged a man with the murder of a two year old Bolton toddler.

Rio Smedley was taken to hospital from his home in Cheriton Drive, Breightmet Bolton, on Sunday afternoon and died of a severe abdominal injury.

22 year old Daniel Rigby, of Somerset Avenue, Tyldesley, Wigan, has been charged with his murder.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said he was due to appear in court today.

Police had been called to the house after getting reports he’d gone into cardic arrest.

He was rushed to the Royal Bolton Hospital but later died.
