Man beaten with metal bat in Bolton

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted in Bolton.

At around 4am on Sunday 27 January 2019, a man was walking along Mayor Street in Gilnrow when he was approached by two men in a dark coloured vehicle.
The men got out of the car and began assaulting the victim with what is believed to be a metal bat. The victim was hit twice on his head and once on his shoulder.
The men returned to their car and fled the scene.
The victim- a man in his 20s- was taken to hospital having suffered a serious head injury.
One of the offenders is described as Asian, aged around 19 and approximately 5ft 8in tall. The other man is described as Asian, approximately 6ft tall and he was wearing a hooded top.
