Investigations are underway after a man wielding an axe stole cash from a shop in Oldham.
It happened just after 2:15pm on Tuesday 31 May, the man followed a security guard into the office of the Tesco Express on Leeds Road.
Once inside he threatened the guard and another member of staff with an axe.
A box containing a large amount of cash was handed over and the man left in a silver Audi
No one was injured.
The man is described as being white, 6ft tall and of slim build. He wore a black balaclava, grey hooded top with three lighter grey stripes on the outside of each arm, black pants and black gloves. He spoke with a local accent.
Detective Sergeant Jason Byrne from Oldham CID said:
'Both the staff member and security guard were afraid what this man may have done and he was clearly determined to get what he wanted.
'I would urge anyone who may have seen this man enter the store or witness the silver Audi either pulling up at the store or driving off to contact us.'
