Man arrested on suspicion of murder in Oldham

A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in an Oldham flat.

Police went to the property on Middleton Road earlier today after a man walked into a police station to report a murder. A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning. Inquiries are continuing.

Chief Superintendent Tim Forber said: "I understand there will be some concern in the community and there will be extra officers in and around the area if residents what to speak to us. Inquiries are at a very early stage but if anyone has any information they think can assist please get in touch."
