Inquiries Into Two Fatal Crashes In Manchester

Two motorcyclists have died in separate crashes in the space of just over an hour.

Both happened on Friday afternoon.

Police were called out to Mosely Road in Stretford to reports that a motorbike had been involved in a collision with an Armco barrier. It's thought the rider - in his 40s lost control of the bike. He was given CPR but died at the scene.

PC Phil Shaw, of GMP's Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: "This is a truly tragic incident and our thoughts are with this man's family at this incredibly difficult time.
"We are keen to speak with anyone who may have witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage showing the incident or the moments leading up to it.

"If you think you have information that can assist us with our enquiries then I would urge you to please get in touch."

An hour later police were called to Parsonage Road in Withington where there'd been a collision between a motorbike and a car. The rider, a man believed to be in his 20s - was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was closed for around six hours while an investigation was carried out.

PC Martin Davies, said: "First and foremost I want to extend my sincere condolences to the family of the motorcyclist that died following the collision on Parsonage Road".

"We are currently providing them with support from specially trained officers as they come to terms with their tragic loss.

"If you witnessed the collision, have information that can help us establish exactly what happened or have dashcam footage then I would ask that you please contact us immediately."
