An American man accused of illegally bringing more than 60 guns into the UK, including through Manchester airport, has pleaded guilty to weapon smuggling charges.

Steven Greenoe, who's a former marine, is alleged to have carried them in his luggage on flights from The States.

Legal documents show he was once stopped by US officials and questioned about the weapons, but still talked his way on to a flight to Manchester.

The 37 year old's appeared before a court in North Carolina, pleading guilty to two of the 50 charges against him.

He's facing up to 30 years in jail when he's sentenced this summer.

Police think the pistols were sold to criminal gangs in the north-west, and ones been linked to a drive-by shooting in Wythenshawe.
