The family of a little boy who died after his heart stopped at the weekend say they will miss him deeply.
Around 5.45pm on Sunday, police went to a house on Cheriton Drive, Breightmet in Bolton, following reports the two-year-old boy had gone into cardiac arrest.
He was rushed to the Royal Bolton Hospital by an ambulance crew where he died.
A Home Office post-mortem examination is taking place at the Manchester Children's Hospital to find out how he died.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody for questioning.
Rio Smedley’s family have paid tribute to him. They said: “Rio was the loving son of Kirsty, brother of Ella, Grandson of Karen and Paddy, Gordon and Yvonne, nephew of Shaun and Jason.
“He will be greatly missed and the family now ask for some peace during this hard time.”
