Eight people have been arrested after a police operation to combat organised crime and drug dealing in Stockport.
Seven addresses in Offerton, Cheadle Heath, Brinnington and Heaviley were targeted by Greater Manchester Police's Serious Crime Division.
Those arrested on suspicion of conspiring to supply controlled drugs were all aged between 27 and 38, and remain in police custody.
Chief Superintendent Rebakah Sutcliffe, divisional commander for Stockport said: "Today's operation comes as a result of a long and thorough police investigation.
"While I understand that the increased police presence will cause some alarm, it is important to note that we are carrying out vital inquiries and all of this is part of our drive to combat the supply of drugs and organised crime.
"I also want to reassure the communities that the offences being investigated are not a specific problem to Stockport; this is criminal activity which has been taking place throughout Greater Manchester and beyond."
