The house was secured and during a further search of the property today, Tuesday 28 June, a further 40kg of cannabis resin was found hidden in the kitchen.

The estimated street value of all the drugs recovered is £400,000.

A 58-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply and remains in police custody.

Detective Sergeant Simon Akker, of Salford CID, said: "This is quite a remarkable recovery of cannabis that was clearly destined for the streets.

"To recover such a large amount is a great result for the police but more importantly the people of Salford."
