A 13 year old boy has drowned after getting into trouble while swimming in a lake in a quarry near Chorley.
The boy, named locally as Dylan Ramsay, got into trouble while swimming at Hilltop Quarry in Whittle-le-Woods, near Chorley, on Sunday.
Ambulance crews were called to the incident at around 3.10pm but the boy was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "The boy's parents have been informed and an investigation is now under way.''
