Burnley Mum Accused Over Baby’s TV Death

A Burnley mum, accused of the manslaughter of her baby son, has appeared in court.

24 year old Natalie McMillan, cried throughout the hearing at Burnley Magistrates' Court as she was charged with the manslaughter of four-month-old Kian.

The infant was taken to hospital with head injuries following the incident at his home in Scarlett Street on December 6 last year.

He was transferred from the Royal Blackburn Hospital to the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital but died the next day.

McMillan, now of Dirkhill Road in Bradford, West Yorkshire, is also charged with child neglect between December 5 and 6.

40 year old Edward Hanratty, also of Dirkhill Road in Bradford, is accused of child neglect on the same dates.

Both were granted bail as the case was committed to Burnley Crown Court.

The pair will next appear in court on May 21.
