Boy critical after crash in Cheshire

A 7-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital after he was injured in a car crash in Warrington.

It happened on Blackbrook Avenue in Padgate at around 6 o'clock on Wednesday evening. He suffered serious injuries and is being treated at Alder Hey hospital where he is said to be seriously ill but stable.

Police said two cars were involved in the collision. No one else was injured and no arrests were made.
