Boy Bailed Over Canal Death

A 14 year old boy, arrested on suspicion of murder after a body was found in a canal in Manchester, has been released on bail

Police were called to Canal Street in the city centre just before 1.50pm on Saturday 9th June, after a report a body of a man had been found.

A post-mortems' taken place and it's been confirmed the man died from drowning - he had no other injuries and it's thought he might have been pushed in. 

The man's been identified as 40-year-old Simon Brass, who lived in the Salford area.

A 21-year-old woman who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released with no further action.
