Bolton Crash Teen Named
Police have named the teenager killed after a crash in Bolton.
Shortly after 10pm last night a Vauxhall Vectra and a Suzuki motorbike collided on Deane Road near to its junction with Blackshaw Lane.
18-year-old Paul Couperthwaite, who was riding the motorbike was taken to hospital but died a short time later.
The driver of the Vectra, a 35-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
He has been interviewed and bailed until February pending further inquiries.
Sergeant Lee Westhead, from the Road Policing Unit, said, "An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of this tragic collision.
"Our thoughts are with Paul's family, who are being supported by specially trained officers.
"I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision or who has any information whatsoever, to contact us as soon as possible."
