Bolton Crash: Man Named

Police have named a man killed in a crash in Bolton over the weekend.

Jason Kenealy, 32, from Darwen in Lancashire, was taken to hospital after the collision, on Chorley Old Road in the Smithills area, at about 8.50pm on Saturday 25 June 2011.

A Vauxhall Corsa and Toyota Corolla Verson crashed into each other, Jason, who was a passenger in the Corsa, later died from his injuries.

The other passenger in the Corsa, a 22-year-old man, is still in hospital but his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

The driver of the Corsa is receiving treatment for a broken angle.

The front seat passenger in the Toyota, a 41-year-old woman is described as being in a critical but stable condition in hospital.

The driver of that car, a 42-year-old man, and two children, a 10-year-old girl and seven-year-old boy have been discharged from hospital. A six-year-old boy who was also in the car remains in hospital though his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

A 24-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
