Blackburn player David Goodwillie has admitted attacking a man in Glasgow in 2010

The 23-year-old pleaded guilty to attacking John Friel in Glasgows Queen Street on 3 November 2010.

Goodwillie repeatedly punched Friel in the head and body and kicked him on the body during the incident.

He pleaded guilty and will be sentenced later this month.

The court heard that Goodwillie had been at a takeaway when an argument broke out between his mates and another group of men.

His former Dundee United team mate Danny Swanson was knocked unconscious by Friel.

CCTV footage of the incident showed Goodwillie confronting Friel and punching him on the head and body.

The striker was told to expect a community service order when he is sentenced at the end of April.
