A two year old girl has died after suffering head injuries at a house in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Police say they were called to a house on Elizabeth Street in Aston-under-lyne on Saturday.
The child was reported to have fallen downstairs, suffering a head injury.
She was taken to hospital but died on Sunday.
It is understood the little girl's mum had just flown out of the country, but rushed back when she got the phone call, her partner was looking after the child.
The child was put on a life support machine after being taken into hospital
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “An investigation into the circumstances of this incident are ongoing.”
